Bob Young was in a band called UZI which opened for groups like Sonic Youth. In 1982 they did one EP called “Sleep Asylum” which got great reviews in the New York Times. Bob relates that they were all too crazy to keep it going. After that Young formed a band with the bass player and another singer called A Scanner Darkly which signed to Sub Rosa Records in Belgium. The group did one LP called “This Is the Way.” Shortly after that Bob Young was born again and quit the band. Excellent dark gloomy new wave-goth rock album. A Scanner Darkly is the title of the famous Philip K. Dick novel. This Is The Way was released on vinyl by Sub-Rosa (SUB 33010-14) in 1988.
