Honing an intense sound that is laden with melodies, heart thumping breaks and introspective lyrics, the Darlington based band have been described as “a real 'band' in a scene full of fake fashionists”.
In the beginning of 2009, Heavy Lies The Crown were born, the 5-peice aged only 16-20 took to the stage for the first time, after locking themselves in their rehearsal space for hours on end, they started writing new songs. The band toured across the UK. over the course of 5 months, collecting a rabid fanbase. With the band wanting to progress, changes had to be made, old vocalist and bassist; Shane Craig & Will Walker were replaced, and the band started to write new and exciting songs, which are set to be released on the bands first EP; The Family Demise, winter 2010.

UKMU Review
“When it comes to the music itself this five piece from the northeast have got a flare for pace…The two racks they have up keep you guessing from one riff to the next as they keep up the pace and the riff changes… Nice breakdowns and complex riffs keep the tracks interesting and again leave you wanting more. So really that’s a testament to the track they have up themselves… If HLTC can give us more tracks like this and of this calibre, I think they may be around for a while yet.”
