Quite possibly the most soothing and relaxed song of all instrumental masterpieces created by Ratatat was written by the duo as a tribute to their initial band name, "Cherry". It took some time after Mike Stroud and Evan Mast first met each other in the lengthy corridors of Skidmore College until they decided and actually started to create records - "Cherry", formed in 2001, was their first experience together in music. Three years later, a newly-named duo Ratatat released their eponymous album which gained them fame and success. Cherry, a homage to those first years, was the last song on the album.
