Since their inception at the end of 2008 in Brisbane, Australia, AOD have had a tumultuous and wild ride. With their original lead singer Dan Bouboulas, they paved a new brand of metalcore that wasn't overly saturated with breakdowns, instead crafting a faster, heavier set filled with catchy and appealing melodies. Together, they played with respected American band The Acacia Strain, released their EP Secret Burdens (of which there are nearly 500 in circulation), toured South Australia, South East Queensland and Northern NSW.
However shortly after their first interstate tour, they decided to part ways with Dan and brought in fresh faced Josh Sardana from Perth, WA. Josh's new creativity and direction allowed AOD to begin writing for their album, and shortly after taking him on, they toured NSW and played extensively around South East Queensland.
Since the beginning of 2011, AOD have focused heavily on recording their album and playing bigger and better shows that have built their reputation and expanded their contacts in the metal and hardcore scene. This year they have shared the stage with Despised Icon, The Dead Will Tell, The Amity Affliction, The Red Shore, Thy Art Is Murder and many other touring interstate bands, making AOD a solid go to band for big crowds, high energy metalcore with an enigmatic presence on stage.
They began recording their album in April this year and are aiming for a December release, with many interstate and also international tours on the horizon. The release will be titled "Dying Is For Fools". With a preview song fast tracked for the anticipated album already up, the album is already turning heads with AOD's mix of brutal speed, breakdowns and riffs, while still maintaining a unique blend of melodicy and appeal to a wider audience.
