Denial Method's heavy sound with alternative style vocals set off the night. Matt's surging rhythm of raw emotion backed by Shelly and Rob's intoxicating guitar currents gave us a true taste of something different.

About The Band
Denial Method can be best described as a blend of heavy rhythm complimented by melodic guitar and vocals. Their music lies somewhere in between the realm of metal and alternative rock. Hard hitting and emotionally charged, their sound appeals to all different people from varied experiences and places in life. Their fans are those who appreciate the sound of mainstream music, but are not manipulated by it. They have been described as “accidentally mainstream” because they write songs that appeals to the masses while staying true to who they are and what they wish to represent.
How They Formed
Denial Method was formed out of the remaining members of the band "Zero Reflexion". Curt, Kent, and Shelly decided to form a new project and placed an add searching for a new vocalist. Matt answered the add and went in for an audition in late August 2005. There was an instant chemistry among the members and they decided to pursue the project further. It was soon determined that to reach the musical dynamic that the band was looking for, they would need another guitarist and decided to contact Rob and see if he was interested in trying out. Once Rob joined the band, they spent the next two years working on their sound and determining their place in the Arizona music scene. It all finally came together in late 2007 when Denial Method decided to record their album "The Surface and the Vision".
What They Are About
Annoyed with the trend of music to try and be overly political or religious, Denial Method tends to write songs about the human experience and perceptions. They believe that regardless of race, religion, or background, everyone knows what it is to lose and to love, to feel powerful and to feel desperate. We don’t fear these emotions; we welcome them as they are part of what it is to be alive. We are not necessarily interested in changing people’s way of doing things or the way they feel… but more to show that we understand these things and maybe even show them a different perspective.
The Future
Although they wish to ultimately pursue touring and a record contract with an established label, their main goal is to be able to spend many more years bringing their music to people who enjoy it. Matt said when recently asked about where they see themselves in the future "We’re not interested in that sex, drugs, and rock and roll crap. Really we just love writing and performing; I can't think of anything that would make me happier. If I could do this for a career and still make enough to pay the bills... what more could I ask for?"
Denial Method has since been making a name for themselves to an ever growing fan base, and it looks like their dream may soon become a reality.
