The band was formed around year 2006 in Ternopil (Tarnopol) Ukraine. Members were changed for several times during that time some demo recording sessions took place but no EP or longplay was released. Orthodox had concerts on Ukraine and in 2008 it was definitely decided to record full-lenght album.
In november 2009 Orthodox arrives at Hertz Studio (Białystok, Poland) and finally starts full-blown recording. During that period there were staff changes again - it was resolved to invite session musicians such as Marcin „Novy” Nowak (bass – Behemoth, Vader, Virgin Snatch, Dies Irae), Maciej „Pączek” Proficz (vocals) to replace past band members. The release date of the album was delayed to early 2011 and after that there was forced brake in activity.
Orthodox was restored in 2013 with new members and year later We started recordings for the second album.
In 2017 Orthodox was renamed Karpathian Relict.
