Meira consists of Sam Mezzo (formerly of Kaelestis) on vocals, Chad Northrup (formerly of Amelia is Dead, Legends and Killers) on guitar, Marty Fugal (formerly of Muzzlestamp, Our 11th Hour) on bass, and Ray Perkins (formerly of When Worlds Collide) on drums.
The band formed formed in early 2012, pulling musicians from all over the state. While recording their debut EP with Justin Spaulding, the band lost both vocalists. Justin Spaulding is credited for bringing Sam and Meira together.
Meira released their debut EP, "Closure" on 9.25.12 via Bandcamp.com. While there isn't (and likely won't be) an official pressing of the album, the band frequents Syracuse with copies in hand.
Meira played much of the CNY and surrounding areas for much of 2012 and 2013. The band took a hiatus in August of 2013 as they were scheduled to record their debut full-length, and spent over a year pursuing personal projects.
As of 2015, Meira has been writing and producing a brand new album, much different than the previous release. The band announced the album in the summer, and plan to release singles in the fall months of 2015.
