The Baltic States is an indie band based in North-West, UK. It blends techno, sad-core and haunting electronic with hypnotic, soaring vocal-melodies in order to create an exciting new sound. The band consists of Jev Maligins - a former member of Beat Milk Jugs (TV Records) - and Helen Morrisson, lead-vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with The Wretched Pearls.
The Baltic States has recently released its debut single, "Kontrol", which has been extremely well-received by both radio and social media platforms. Recent successes include having been named as track of the week by "Best of British Unsigned" (July 2013, Showcase 68) and having been played by Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music (August 2013). The success of the single was complemented by the popularity of the promotional video which was released in September 2013. The video was created, filmed and edited by the band itself.
The Baltic States currently preparing to take their music directly to live audiences. These performances will feature additional visuals and musicians, with a view to offering far more than simple duplications of the studio recordings.
