Theoktony is a dark, convoluted, extreme metal band from the UK. Since the inception of Theoktony in 2005, the aim has been to create genre-crossing, unrelenting music, to wear down the listener. The aural assault has shared stages with the likes of Napalm Death, Anaal Nathrakh, Morbid Angel, Gojira and Skinless to name but a few. Theoktony have more recently taken leave from numerous live performances to focus on writing and recording.
The first full length offering was 'I', a 52 minute blasterpiece, featuring Steve 'St. Evil' Powell of Anaal Nathrakh live fame on drum duties. To follow up 'I' released in 2008 on FETO records (Mick Kenny/Shane Embury), Theoktony is brandishing the new album 'Loss', a 9 track assault of fierce, extreme metal. 'Loss' is a celebration of the humiliating failure off humanity, from the capture and torture of women for extortion, to the subservience of mankind to religion. Written by Original member Liam Millward (ex-Crepitation) with contributions from Anil Carrier (Towers of Flesh, Binah, Purify the Horror), it is a skewed approach to modern metal, drawing inspiration from modern historical atrocities and failures
